Had a hard time putting it down at first. The scenes between Elle and Charlotte were interesting and intense. I loved the way the story is told only between Elle and Charlotte’s POV – finally a suspense novel that doesn’t complicate how the story is told.

Julie and Sam are lovers. They go to the same school and have plans on moving away together in college. They have been in a relationship for 3 years. Julie was new to town. Julie first saw Sam in the bookshop she is working in, they had their first conversation in the coffee shop Sam works.
Sam died – Julie got back from Seattle and Sam was supposed to pick her up. When Julie called Sam, he was still with his friends and it would be a 1 hour drive to get her. Julie said she would just walk and refused to answer any of his calls. Sam left the bonfire ans went to fetch Julie, but on his way, he got into a car accident and he died. One day, as she was serving customers, Derek Winter came to dine along with his stepdad, Mr. Long. Derek is a food critic who already gave them multiple bad reviews while Mr. Long is their landlord their renting to who is eager to kick them out.

Tallulah and Zach didn’t come home after dinner and some unexpected drinks with friends. Tallulah’s mother, Kim, is extremely worried. She knows Tallulah, she’s responsible and is a hands on mother to her baby, Noah.
The last update Kim received from Tallulah was a text, informing her that they bumped into her college friend Scarlett Jacques, and they’ll be going to her place for some drinks.
Kim contacted Scarlet, went to her house called the “Dark Place” and asked details about what happened the night before. Scarlet said they drank, then Tallulah and Zach went home by themselves – saying they’ll just grab a cab.
